Value of your Life - Inspirational Story

Every being is exclusive because no one can imitate your character. Your distinction lies in your ability to be unparalleled. Cherish the fact that you are neither alike nor different than one another, for your personality is disparate and one of its own kind.
Yet, in spite of being a nonpareil, we tend to forget our individual worth, the common reason being getting intimidated by inferiority complex and losing faith in ourselves. However, when we begin to question our forgotten value that is the time when we realise our significance, irrespective of what others speak about you.

Here's an inspirational story that have moral to change your life and boost you up.

Once upon a time, there was a young man, who was seldom acknowledged of his hard work and often harassed by persistent criticism. When someone advised him to confide in a wise sage about his problem, he went to him and asked, "Master, what is the value of life?"

The wise sage was celebrated for giving enigmatic solutions. He gave the young man one stone and said, "If you want to know the value of life, first appraise the value of this stone, but on one condition: don't sell it."

The young man bade farewell and lurched away to a nearby market. He saw a man selling apples and took the stone to him. "Sir, can you tell me what could be the cost of this stone?"
The apple seller looked at the lustrous stone and said, "If you want, you can take 12 apples and give me that stone."
The young man apologized and told him that the stone was not for sale. "Then, get away from my apples. I have other things to do than talk with the likes of you.”

The young man roved ahead and found a vegetable vendor. "Good sir," he asked the vendor, "could you please let me know what could be the value of this stone?" The vendor saw the shiny stone and said, "Take one sack of potatoes and give me the stone. “The man again apologized and said he can't sell it. "Then, why are you still standing over my shop? Go away!"

The young man continued his journey and came across a gold shop. He went in and brought forth the stone for the goldsmith's inspection, asking its cost. The goldsmith beheld the stone under a lens and said, "I'll give you 5 million for this stone." When the man shook his head, the goldsmith said, "Alright! Take 50 million, but give me the stone, sir." The young man thanked the goldsmith for his courtesy but explained that he can't sell the stone, and moved forward.

Two lanes hence, the man saw a precious stones' shop and entered it. After customary greetings, he inquired about the cost of the stone. When the jeweler saw the magnificent ruby, he took it gingerly in his hand and watched it goggle-eyed. "O noble sir, whence did you get this prodigious stone?" he asked, stupefied. The young man repeated his not-for-sale condition umpteenth time. "Even if I sell everything that I own," the jeweler observed, "I won't be able to buy this priceless stone."

The young man was dazed by such warm reception, but exhausted by the meaningless journey. Dejected and befuddled, he walked back to the wise guru and returning the colossal stone, narrated all his incidents with different people. "Master, I did as you bid, but I'm unable to understand your message. Now can you please elaborate on what is the value of life?"

The wise sage replied, "The answers you got from the apple seller, the vegetable vendor, the goldsmith & the jeweller explain the value of our life..."
"How?" The young mam looked perplexed.

"What did you notice about these men you encountered?"

"Some scorned me with contempt, and some were avaricious while courteously greeting me in."
"That's what is life is about. You may be a precious stone, even priceless, but that doesn't guarantee you recognition. Your life's value will be judged by people, whose opinion for you will be based on their financial statuses, their risk taking ability, their level of understanding, their conviction for you, their aspiration and their motive behind entertaining you."

"So my value of life is nothing but the perceptions people have towards me?"

"Yes, but more importantly how you let yourself be perceived. But don't you worry; you will definitely find someone who will discern your true value. Until then, have self-confidence. Know that you are unique and be yourself!"

Do not submit yourself to obscurity. Nothing should hamper your determination to write history. Let your inherent haecceity be resurfaced for the world to see that you are a leader who has risen to influence humanity.
